1. Understanding of program activity development and delivery in the following contexts: ages 0 through 18, residential summer camp, special populations/
2. Understanding of training development and delivery/
3. Understanding of CCS Camps’ volunteer and community partnerships and organizational structure/
4. Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and time-management skills/
5. Intermediate computer skills/
6. Strong communication and presentation skills, including facilitation and training/
7. Excellent project management and facilitation skills/
8. Ability to evaluate program activities and make sound recommendations for improvement/
9. Ability to exercise sound, expert, and independent judgment with general policy guidelines/
10. Ability to communicate effectively with people at various levels of the organization
Job description:
The Assistant Camp Director is responsible for developing and facilitating program activities for Canadian Cancer Society Camp programs, including general activities, waterfront activities, and arts & crafts. This position designs activities, works with volunteer teams, leads activities onsite, as well as work with a staff team in the areas of administration, materials acquisition, and training session development.
The Assistant Camp Director is the primary point of contact for contracted program service providers, such as Pinnacle Pursuits. In addition, the Assistant Camp Director relieves the Summer Camp Director when the Summer Camp Director is offsite.
This is a Temporary Full Time/ 35 hours per week position from April 1, 2012 to September 30, 2012.
